Nightmare In The Suburbs

Hello again,

The other night I was having a nightmare. One of those that you wake up in a sweat and you are almost too scared to reach out and put the bedside light on even though you really need to to make sure a killer isn't at the end of your bed.
Luckily (?) The Babe started crying and woke me up. There, in my sweaty, scared state, I was highly grateful to have been woken by her.

As I was thinking about it the next day, I found some similarities of what had happened the night before and life on a grander scale. In the same way she had woken me from my slumber, she had also woken me from a different life the moment she was born. I would not compare my 'previous' life to a nightmare - far from it - but her first scream awoke me from that life. And as I was in the middle of the night, I am eternally grateful for it.

Lots and lots of changes have occurred since my beautiful daughter was born - far too many to mention here - and life has been turned on it's head. Things I thought were important before, simply seem silly in comparison to this little life I'm responsible for.

I may not have been living a nightmare previously, but I have certainly had my eyes opened to the broad day light of life.

Speak soon,

L xx
