What's in my travel make up bag?

Hello again,

As Christmas and New Year approaches, Mr B, the babe and I will be doing a little bit of family visiting and travelling and so I thought now would be an opportune moment to show some of my absolute gems in my travel make up bag. These are ultimately my all time faves from my every day make up picks but also feature those totes important items which are quick and easy when all you want to do is get out of the door, semi-presentable, to go and have fun with the family.

The Base

Primer - Laura Mercier Primer in Radiance - all I can say is, I wore this for the first time and my husband said 'I want you to look like this everyday'. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Most deffo. Also does a good job of the obvious - keeping my make up in place all day.(£29)

Foundation - Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B20 is a beautiful illuminating foundation. That + the primer = the perfect dewy skin.(£33)

Brush - I love to buff this bad boy in with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. (£21.99 - part of a set)

Concealer - The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 'Fair' is a fantastic, cheap concealer alternative which lasts all day without too much creasing. (£4.19)

Sponge - The pink Classic Beauty Blender makes all this flawless (£16)

The Face

Bronzer - The Body Shop's Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 02 is a brilliant matte shade if you are also a hater of the 'glitter' bronzer. (£13)

Brush - I love to whack it on with the Bare Minerals Flawless Application Brush. (£19)

Blush - The Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette. Oh god, I think I am going to have to do a separate post on this. I absolutely winced at the price when I saw it but after much internet research I decided I couldn't live without it. And that is actually probably true, I, now, cannot live without it. I always felt like I wasn't getting blusher just right. But this little beauty makes me think I am doing it all right. It creates a beautiful mix of sheen and colour on the cheeks which can be buildable - or not. Dear god, I love this palette. (£56)

Brush - Real Techniques Blush Brush is da bomb for apply this. (£9.99)

Highlighter - theBalm Mary Lou Manizer highlighter is a beautiful finishing touch, and it really does make a difference to the overall look. (£16)

Brush - Bare Minerals Tapered Blush brush is just small enough to give the perfect amount of highlight. (£13.50)

The Brows

Powder - HD Brows Palette in 'Vamp' is my 'bang on' shade for brows.(£25)

Brush - The Body Shop slanted brush is perfect for those little realistic eyebrow strokes. (£9)

The Eyes

Primer - The obvs choice of the'Urban Decay Primer Potion'. There can be no other.(£16)

Base - Mac's paint pot in 'Painterly'is great as a neutraliser for those old bags I like to call my eyes. As someone with crazy dark eyelids, a base always evens stuff up nicely. (£15.50)

Eye shadow - For a quick and easy, out-the-door-in-5 I always turn to my trusty No 7 Stay Perfect Shade And Define in 'Cool Mink'. It's just a pretty, champagne-y shade that adds a touch of shimmer to the lids. (£8)

Brush - I like to give this a bit of a blend with the Mac '217' brush. It is THE ultimate blending brush. (£19)

Eye liner - The Bobby Brown long-wear gel liner in 'Caviar Ink' is a hands down winner for eye liner. Again, with the brush, is pricey but worth every penny. It also lasts FOREVER. (£18)

Brush - Gotta apply this with the Bobby Brown Ultra Fine eye liner brush. GOT TO. (£22.50)

Eyelash curlers - Shu Uemura, am I right?! (£20)

Mascara - 'The Volum' Express Falsies Flared Mascara' by Maybelline is brilliant. Someone once actually asked me if I was wearing false eyelashes whilst wearing it once... (£7.99)

Speak soon,

L xx
